The
mission of Thai Binh Medical University
Thai Binh Medical University takes an important
mission in training that is to contribute actively to satisfy the
demands of medical human resource with necessary degrees and diplomas,
following suitable rate for Northern delta area and Central North.
Together with scientific - technological activities and medical
services, the University also has to meet the demands of: taking care
of people's health with specific diseases, raising community's
knowledge of health care, exchanging and transforming medical
techniques for medical lines in the area and raising knowledge for
local health staff.
Development

Building Thai Binh Medical University to become
a completely medical university - a nuclear of advanced techniques in
Northern delta and Central North in order to reach National standard
with integration and international cooperation capabilities and meet
the demands of training human resources as well as
scientific-technological activities, various medical services etc.

- Demands of the society of
medical human resource
The Health sector was appointed to reach 60% of communes with doctors
in 2005 by the Government. Therefore, in order to supply enough
doctors as the rate of 1 doctor in 10,000 people for provinces around,
together with present number there must be more than 2000 doctors of
which 50% are doctors in communal medical centers. This is a big
challenge in training strategy to TBMU so that it has to increase the
enrollment number and diversify training models.
- Influence of the development of socio-economic and
scientific-technological fields on medical activities of TBMU
In the renewal process of the country, socio-economic and cultural
conditions of Northern delta and Central North are being improved,
especially the economy of various sectors in market mechanism with
State management that has great impacts on disease structure. Together
with improvement in People's awareness, demands of medical services
are also raised. Therefore, training types and programs must be
updated annually to help students cope with new disease models and be
able to take part in different activities of medical services.
At present, there are still bacteria-infection or parasite infection
diseases of malnutrition etc. due to the poverty of farmers and
pollution. Besides the number of patients of heart disease, diabetes
or chemical infection in agriculture are increasing. Therefore,
strategies and targets to solve these new problems and diseases are
great challenges to Vietnam health sector as well as TBMU.
The
industrialization and modernization has increased the uses of machines
and chemicals in agriculture production while there haven't got
adequate studies on labor physiology and psychology, labor protection
and hygiene. On the other hand, doctors working in countryside haven't
been retrained to meet this renewal demand. Therefore, the University
needs to open more training and retraining courses for local health
staff with updated knowledge.
The industrialization and modernization has enhanced crossing breeds, gene
technology and using preserving chemicals while there are still lack
of studies on food quality to care customers' health.
- The State's development strategies and policies have impacts on the
University's medical activities
The development strategies and policies of the Party and State and the
Health sector are lodestar of TBMU that leads TBMU carry out
activities and tasks to take care of people's health in rural
development process in Northern delta and Central North in 21st
century.
TBMU are having new demands to be solved so that it can well implement
strategy "Developing training and education combining with
socio-economic demands and scientific-technological advances" and
"Strategy of developing human to coincide the industrialization
and modernization" following 2nd Resolution of Party Central Executive
Board of "Orientation of education and training development in
the industrialization and modernization"
TBMU has to focus on: scale enlarging, quality raising and effectively
implementing tasks in education and training strategies. It also has
to complete practical sites, scientific research bases for
undergraduates and postgraduates in labs, library, hospital as well as
in community.
With implementing development
strategy of Health sector from 2000 - 2020, medical universities would
be nuclear of medical centers so that it is necessary to develop TBMU
to become one of those medical centers in Northern delta area. |
